Brief

Boris & Horton is a dog-friendly cafe in New York City’s East Village. Its previous visual identity featured a cutesy, hand-drawn DIY aesthetic. This direction served the brand well, as they established themselves as the city’s go-to-spot for combining love for dogs and coffee. With plans to expand locations, update their merch / collateral and launch CPG products, including candles and dog food, our clients approached us to evolve their brand identity

FINDINGS

Our clients were clear in their intention to switch gears to align their brand identity with their young, predominantly female, East Village customer base and tasked us to craft a brand that was modern, fun, social, and playful, with the ultimate goal of making people smile. With this in mind, made something that was in essence, a free-flow of positive vibes and attitudes that reflected the social nature of the dogs and people in their stores. Seen in both our branding and also in our CPG packaging design, this is executed with vibrant colors, off-balance fonts, expressive colors and shapes, and the cutest dog illustrations you ever did see.
